Why does AI recommend the competition?
This is not a quality assessment

Questions about competition in the answers
Why does the AI recommend the competition rather than me?
Because with the competitor, there are more independent endorsements: reviews, listings in rankings, and mentions in publications. This isn’t an assessment of service quality, but simply a choice of the brand with which the risk of making a mistake is lower.
We’re doing the same thing, yet he’s visible. How is that possible?
Visibility in the models measures something other than the quality of work. The model hasn’t seen your projects, so it relies on what others say about both companies.
Where should I start catching up?
Starting with the basics: business cards, brochures, service names in the client’s language and specific details on the website. That’s a week’s work. We describe the next steps in the article when AI doesn’t know your business.
Is it possible to catch up if a competitor has been in business for ten years longer?
In the general category, it’s difficult. It’s often more effective to narrow the focus: a narrow specialisation, where there are three competitors rather than thirty, has a much lower barrier to entry.
Can I report a competitor for making false claims?
Models do not have a channel for reporting incidents of this kind. The only way is through their own verifiable sources, which the model can cite.
How can I find out who’s taking my place?
By asking the models questions about a category without mentioning the brand name, and noting down the names they come up with. We explain how to do this in the article how to find out what AI says about a company.
The model knows my brand, yet still mentions a competitor. Why?
Because a diagnosis is not the same as a recommendation. We explain this difference in the article knows it, but doesn’t recommend it.
