Module

Tasks: what to do to get the AI to start mentioning you

Tasks is Aelo’s action module. It converts the barriers identified in the report into a list of specific actions, prioritised by impact. Each task is accompanied by a number that explains the reasoning behind it, so you can see why that particular task has been chosen rather than another.

Types

Where do the tasks come from?

Each task is based on a specific figure in the report, not on general advice. They are divided into three types, as each is carried out in a different place.
ContentWhat’s missing from your website?Subpages and articles targeting search queries where the brand name does not appear. The content is prepared by the Studio; you publish it.
Off the websiteHow is the model supposed to find out about you?Places outside your own domain where it’s worth appearing: reviews, rankings, industry publications. You can’t achieve this with your own content.
TechnicalCan the model extract an answer from your page?Changes to the website’s structure and data resulting from the GEO and AEO audits.
We explain where the figures on which the exercises are based come from in methodology, and the barriers themselves are shown Visibility.
Explanatory Memorandum

Each task has a number which indicates

A list of actions without justification is simply a wish list. For each task, you can see which metric it came from and exactly what the report showed.
The order isn’t random either. We organise the tasks by impact – that is, by how much of the queries in your category might change once they’ve been completed. This way, you know what to do first when you only have time for one thing a month.
Task

A subpage for a search term with a visibility rating of 0%

Why this in particular?
Visibility for this query: 0% in four models
Competitors mentioned in this response: 3, each with its own subpage
The topic described on your site in a single paragraph on the services page
What next?
The studio is writing the text You read and correct You publish The next scan checks the result

Division of roles

Aelo prepares it, you decide

Aelo does not have access to your content management system and does not publish anything. A task may be created automatically, but it will only take effect once you have approved it.

FAQ

Questions about the Tasks

The questions most commonly asked during the initial discussion about implementation.
What is the ‘Tasks’ module in Aelo?

Tasks is an operational module. It converts the barriers identified in the report into a list of actions ranked by impact, with a justification provided for each one. We explain where the figures come from in methodology.

Where do the tasks come from?

From the full scan in the module Visibility. The report identifies barriers, and these barriers give rise to tasks. None of them is general advice divorced from measurement.

Does Aelo carry out tasks on my behalf?

No. Aelo is preparing the material in Study, but they do not have access to your content management system. You or your agency are responsible for approving and publishing the content.

How do on-page tasks differ from off-page tasks?

You carry out on-site tasks within your own domain: subpages, articles and technical fixes. Off-site tasks relate to areas beyond your control: reviews, rankings and industry publications. The latter cannot be achieved through your own content, yet it is this that builds your reputation.

In what order should they be done?

The one in which they are listed. The order is based on impact – that is, on how many of the queries in your category are likely to change once the task has been completed.

When will I see the results of the task I’ve completed?

In the next full scan, i.e. after a month. Models need time before they notice the change. We discuss this in the article Why aren’t the changes visible straight away?.

Can I add my own task?

Yes, from the Pro plan onwards. The Free and Starter plans work on tasks specified by the report. The scope is in price list.

How many tasks can I see in the Free plan?

Three; the rest are visible but blurred. The full list starts with the Starter.
